Words of Encouragement from Lion President J. K. Noel
I trust that all who attended the 62nd Charter Night on Feb 13th enjoyed their evening. The meal was quite
good at Reamstown Fire Hall and it was also great to have (7) of the widows who were able to attend.
There wasn't much of a meeting held during the evening which only lasted for a few minutes. However,
there was quite a challenge for five couples concerning "Who Knew What" about each others spouse. I
hope all enjoyed their responses and I assume that all 5 couples, on the following day, had an exciting
Valentines Day..??!! I bet they had special presents for each other just to help bring back their happy
relationship.
Unfortunately, we missed the Feb. 12th Peace Church Service which was cancelled due to the snow. We
will have to reset the date to attend the Service at Peace Church some time in March. Also, the District
Governors meeting was to be held at Four Seasons at 2:00PM, was also cancelled but was then held on Feb.
19th. In addition, we had the "Zone Meeting" which was held on Monday Feb. 20th at the Reamstown Fire
Hall. Our last Club meeting in February will have a special guest who will discuss attention to treatment
of sightless conditions using special canines through Lions Clubs.
The Oyster and Ham supper will be held and running on Saturday, March 4th. We need to start around
9:00AM to get tables, chairs, table settings, etc, set up for the meals and then return around 2:30PM to get
meals started, etc, and ready to go. It's really amazing the number of customers who show up around
2:30PM to get started before we are ready. Also, we will need to have desserts brought in for the meals.
Don't forget that will be going to the Rainbow Dinner Theater on April 1st for our Appreciation Evening for
all Lion members along with helpers that have been involved in getting meals and other events in raising
money for our Lions Club. Please contact Lions Jim Moser or Rick Bates to let them know the number of
people that will be attending.
Don't forget to let Lion Rick Bates know if you have a Computer at home, he can start sending messages to
you at no cost. These would include things like News Letters, Zion Meetings, District Reports, etc.
Always keep in mind, that your Computer has a PC which keeps all spelling errors under control. My
"spell checker" does wonders for me - eye halve a spelling chequer it came with my pea sea, it plainly
marques four my revue miss steaks eye kin knot sea. Eye strike a key and type a word and weight four it
two say weather eye am wrong oar write it shows me strait a weigh. As soon as a mist ache is maid it nose
bee fore two long and eye can put the error rite, its rare lea ever wrong. I am shore your pleased two no its
letter perfect, awl the weigh my chequer tolled me sew.
So, as you can see, there never is a spelling problem with me using my PC, nor should it happen to you.
Yours in Lionism:
Pres. J.K. Noel
