Words of Encouragement from Lion President J. K. Noel

We really had a fantastic Ham & Oyster dinner on March 4th. Many thanks to Lion Leroy Witmer and all our fellow lions for the fantastic job completed.  A lot of dedication resulted in excellent food, customer service and great revenues. Congratulations to all for a job well done. The following Sunday, a week later on March 12th, resulted in us having three bowling teams participate at the District Bowling tournament. A good time was held by all who attended and played against other teams.

A special thanks to Lion Glenn Eidemiller who helped set up the "Hobbies Program" during our meeting on March 13th. All hobbies presented were very interesting and enjoyed by all. This was a great idea which was well received. I found it to be very interesting and enjoyed every presentation.

During our next meeting we will have Region Chair Lion Bob Crouse in attendance and then at the end of the week on Saturday, April 1st, we have our "Appreciation Night". This is being held at the Rainbow Dinner Theater and will have a great meal (their Ham is pretty good too) and watch the program "Second Time Around". I'm sure all those who attend will have a great time.

I want to thank all the members of this Club who sent me messages, notes, cards, etc over these past several weeks. Your kind thoughts and encouragements were well received and truly helping me to get back in shape. This Club is truly the greatest of all Lionistic Clubs, consisting of the worlds greatest members. I'm very happy to be a small part and I'm truly and extremely grateful for your thoughts and wishes. Keep in mind that what we have done for ourselves alone, disappears with us, but what we have done for others and the world.remains and is immortal. Thank you to all.

Yours in Lionism:
Pres. J.K. Noel

Redner’s Receipts
Just as a reminder don’t forget to collect your Redner’s receipts and give them to Lion Charlie.

Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter Egg Hunt takes many man hours as well as hours of help. Don’t forget the egg pick-up will be April 14 starting at 4:00 PM. Team captains will be notified by Lion Ray Wolf shortly. The Egg Hunt will be Saturday April 15 help is needed to setup and tear down.

President’s Honor Night
What is it and why should I go or not go. Well lets start by saying this is a night to honor your current Lion President, we have 63members in our club, we have about 15 new members since 2003 and we have 23 past presidents in the club. That means about half (48%) of the members prior to 2003 have been president. Those individuals understand what it took to help guide the club for their year. The food is normally very good the atmosphere is festive, and yes we go to say thank you Lion President. I have heard its boring its long why do I want to waste my time. Boring to some is not to others it might be boring at times but I believe the overall occasion can be quite interesting. The length use to be very long this is no longer the case the affair will be over by 9:15 PM.

District Convention
Let us show our support for the incoming District Governor Bruce Carpenter. There is many things going on at the District Convention there are seminars to learn more about Lions, Lioness and Leo’s. There is lunch, theme baskets and did I mention Lion activities. Why not take a few hours out of your busy schedule and support your District Governor, better yet bring some fun and excitement back to the convention.
