Club Picnic
The annual club picnic was held Monday August 28th in the Reamstown Park, fun was had by all. Burgers
were made courtesy of our current lion president Don Hartranft. There seemed to be enough food and
deserts for all. Bingo was played as our own Lion Charlie Cutts was the caller. The evening was pleasant
and glad to see many families were present.
Reamstown Days
Chairperson Lion Leroy Berger wanted to thank all those lions who helped at this year’s Reamstown Days.
The nights were pleasant and entertainment was good enough to create dancing and singing in the trailer by
all that were working. The event was another successful event.
Denver Fair Parade
The Denver Fair Parade was canceled do to road construction, seems there would be no reviewing stand
and a complete path would not be able to be utilized. We will be going to the Mohnton Halloween Paraded
Saturday October 14th. Those interested in walking please contact Lion Rick Bates. Lion Rick will be
looking for help to load and unload the float for the parade. There will be at least another five lions clubs
walking in this parade lets show them our spirit and strength.
Ephrata Fair
Co-Chairperson Lion “Bud” Lewis would like to thank all those lions that helped especially those helping
to set-up and tare down. Thanks to all the spouses for their help and efforts, for without them it could not
have been done.
ATTENTION
The club is still in need of several Chairperson positions, some of them are Fall Oyster Supper and
Publicity just to name a few, please contact Lion President Don Hartranft.
Corvette Raffle Tickets
Lion Rick has Corvette raffle tickets for the 15,000 original miles red Corvette. Only 1000 tickets will be
sold. You need not be present for the drawing, the raffle drawing date has been changed to December 31,
2006 a location to be determined at a later date. Cost of a ticket is $50.00; please contact Lion Rick for
tickets. If all the tickets are sold there will be $30,000 donated to SABVI. Let’s please help the cause.
Food Drive
Chairperson Lion Bob Weaver will be contacting lions to help in a food drive scheduled for Friday and
Saturday October 13th and 14th at both Redners’ and Martin’s.
Just a Reminder
November Board Meeting will be Monday November 6, 7:00PM at the home of Lion Vernon Boose
There is talk of postage stamps rising in price again, so please if you have an email address please let the
secretary know so that he can save the club some cost.
Those Lions that are Chairpersons, please remember to get a tax exempt form from either the Club
Secretary or Treasurer.
Let’s wish all those fellow Lions their family and friends that are not feeling well or recuperating from
surgeries a speedy and safe recovery.
Those lions attending the Region Rally please remember to bring a can or two of food for the Food Bank.
