Sight First II Update
Lion Gene Heft gave an inspiring chat to us all at a recent meeting about his feelings on Campaign SightFirst II. He was inspired at last year’s International Convention listening to Past President Jimmy Ross. It takes just $6.00 to save a person from blindness, so take time to think how many people you are willing to save. Lion Gene gave us all a challenge with that statement, and we have started to accept the challenge. We added $800 to the campaign from the Toll Road. Look forward to upcoming meetings for even more details.
Toll Road
This years toll recipients Reamstown Park Association, Ephrata Area Social Services, Hospice of Lancaster & Campaign SightFirst II were present at the January 14th Regular Meeting. They all gave a little introduction about their organizations and each received a check for $800.
Boys/Girls Seminar
District 14D is conducting their annual Youth seminars and is asking the club to sponsor a Junior Boy and a Junior Girl to attend each one of these seminars. The Boys Seminar is scheduled for March 28th to 30th, while the Girl Seminar is scheduled for April 4th to 6th. These seminars, which are held at Beacon Lodge Camp, are in the form of a weekend retreat and include speakers on many interesting subjects, discussion groups with topics where the Boys and Girls are encouraged to share their own ideas and a time to improve their leadership skills. Other activities, along with recreation are also planned for the weekend. There is no cost to the Boy or Girl that attend these seminars. The only requirement is that the Boy and Girl should be a junior in High School. Please, talk to your Sons and Daughters, Grandchildren, neighbors and friends and let them know of this opportunity for a great weekend. If you know of anyone that might be interested in going to these Seminars or you have any questions please see Lion Bruce Carpenter.
