East Cocalico Lions Club
Annual Community Egg Hunt
Each year the Reamstown Community Park is the site of a Community Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the East Cocalico Lions Club. Lion members, along with the Easter Bunny, welcome and greet close to 1000 youth and parents of the local community to this annual affair. Even though this service project is a Lions Club Sponsored event, the Community supports it by its help and donations of eggs and cash. Each year the members of the East Cocalico Lions club collect from the community 17 cases of decorated hard-boiled and plastic eggs. That is over 6,000 eggs that had to be found and picked up. When all the eggs are found every participant received a prize supplied and purchased from Wal-Mart in Ephrata. Afterwards everyone enjoys refreshments consisting of hot dogs, soda and hot chocolate, along with fellowship and a chance to win a door prize.
