November 2013 Student Of The Month – Hannah Hartman
Recently, at a club meeting that she and her mother attended Hannah Hartman was bestowed the honor of Student of the Month by the East Cocalico Lions Club. Hannah, a Senior at Cocalico, is very active in school activities participating in Symphonic Band (as a clarinetist), the Choralaires, Mock Trail and is a Lab Assistant for the Chemistry Department. Honors and awards which she has earned include being a member of the National Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She attended the National Young Leaders State Conference and received many “Student of the Month” awards from various academic departments in the high school. She has been a member of the 4.0 Honor Roll throughout her entire High School Career. Even though she is very active she believes in the Lions Clubs motto of “We Serve” by being a member of the Cocalico High School Leo Club serving as the Chairperson of the In School Activities. She also volunteers at the Reading Hospital/Nursing homes and is an academic tutor at the Denver Elementary School. When she does finds spare time she enjoys spending it surrounded by good books at Barnes and Nobles. Hannah hopes to attend Gettysburg, Franklin & Marshall or Dickinson College majoring in English or Political Science.
